For those unaware, there is currently a massive wildfire going on throughout Los Angeles, California. Over the last few days, officials and residents have reported massive walls of flame, fluctuations in wind speeds, and general chaos. One man attempted to help his neighbor, whose trees were on fire due to a blown transformer. Unfortunately, his little gesture of kindness backfired as the intense winds blew up another, nearby transformer. The man’s doorbell camera captured the entire situation, which was then reposted to TikTok for everyone to see.
The video was taken by a Los Angeles man’s doorbell camera, which captured him using a garden hose to put out a flame caused by a blown transformer off-camera. You can see the heavy winds blowing the trees in the background, making it clear that it isn’t safe to be outside. Then, all of a sudden, a bright light flashes as a second transformer explodes, causing a second fire.
Fortunately, the man could avoid being harmed and quickly returned inside. However, you can see the fear on his face as he tries to come to terms with such a terrifying situation. Even the caption he posted on the video offers a warning to those who might think of doing the same.
“A blown transformer set a tree on fire. I was trying to hose the bushes on my patio as well as the neighbors when a second transformer blew up. These winds are no joke!”
The video is only seven seconds long, but that really is all it takes for something dangerous to happen while outside during bad weather. Hopefully, the wildfire will subside soon and allow people to return to their daily lives without fear of anything blowing up or catching fire. The damage caused by the fire appears to be massive, but I do not doubt that Californians will find a way to push past it.
