2022 has been the month for Steam games to absolutely shine and score massive player numbers, hitting new records for concurrent and total users across the board. Developers such as Techland and From Software have something to be proud of, with their games being sent out to wide audiences both on PC and consoles. One of those studios is Smilegate RPG, who recently pushed their MMORPG Lost Ark to the west with some massive reception to boot! Today, the team is happy to announce that Lost Ark has secured 20 million global users since its original debut, following a peak concurrent player count of 1.32 million users!
Christoph Hartmann, VP of Amazon Games (publisher of Lost Ark), had the following to say regarding the announcement:
Overall, the excitement surrounding Lost Ark from around the world is quickly gaining steam, as evidenced by the growing number of global players. Together with Smilegate, we are committed to supporting the growing community with a robust roadmap of updates in the years to come.”
In case you’re one of the few unaware of the game, Lost Ark is a free-to-play MMORPG in the same style as games like Path of Exile in being an action RPG. As a hero of your making, you explore seven vast and varied continents to find all sorts of mythical and technological wonders. All of this, in search of endless amounts of gear, enemies, and bosses! With so much to discover, this is easily one of the best MMORPGs for players to get their hands on. If that doesn’t tell you that, then Lost Ark’s 20 million global users and massive concurrent player counts sure will.
A massive congratulations to the teams at Smilegate RPG and Amazon Games on this colossal achievement! Have you played Lost Ark? If so, which class is your favorite thus far? Let us know!
