I feel very bad for Solo. It was a pretty solid film and got caught up in an uproar that had nothing to do with its quality. I hope the Star Wars Stories cn bounce back!

There is so much to explore in this universe, that a welcome change would be to deviate from the characters we already know and tell other stories. I know that they are doing this with the current trilogy, but it’s being bogged down by wanting to appeal to nostalgia.

I agree with you to a point. It is definitely a good thing to move beyond the characters that have thus far defined Star Wars, but I have to agree that the jarring departure from their characterizations specifically in The Last Jedi was not a wise creative choice. There was not the same response to Force Awakens which DID introduce new characters but not at the expense of deconstructing all of the previous lore of the franchise. I believe there is a workable balance.

Yeah! I think the problem is that they went jumped head on 20+ years to catch up to the real actors aging in order to integrate them in the movies. If they didn’t have a problem recasting anyway, as seen with Solo, then they should have recast the original actors to show how the original characters evolve and solidify their actions in later movies. We wouldn’t have flashbacks that would not detract from building up the new characters.
