A man in San Diego, California, was recently seen aggressively confronting ‘No Kings’ protesters at a transit stop in Fashion Valley on March 28. He was filmed by another individual, possibly one of the protesters or a bystander, shouting insults and repeatedly praising Trump. The video has since made its way to Reddit, where the predominant reaction from netizens has been negative.
The footage shows the man standing on what appears to be a train platform, wearing a red hoodie and gray sweatpants. As protesters gathered nearby, he began yelling at them, calling them “losers,” “despicable,” and “disgusting.” He told them, “[Trump’s] still our president. You guys are retarded.”
He also appeared to single out an individual in the crowd and made rude comments about their appearance.
At one point, he raised his hand and shouted “Trump” several times while pacing the platform. It is not clear how long he spent there taunting the crowd, but the video ends as soon as he notices the person filming and starts heading toward them.
The Man’s Actions Were Heavily Criticized by Redditors
People who came across the clip on Reddit did not hold back in sharing their opinions about the man’s behavior. One person said, “Dude is an embarrassment.” Another sarcastically remarked, “You can just tell his life is going great.” A third commented, “Nothing patriotic about deference to a man,” while another added, “It’s always projection with these people.”
A few suggested protesters should disengage entirely. “Just ignore those idiots,” one comment read. Meanwhile, another viewer reacted to the final moments of the clip, saying, “I hope the cameraman gave him a good shot of pepper spray when he came up to him in a threatening manner.”
According to Reuters, more than 3,000 events are planned across the U.S., with projections of over 100,000 demonstrators expected to show up in multiple states to protest Trump’s policies.
