A variant cover for Fall of the House of X #1 reveals Magik is getting a new suit for the end of Krakoa. A surprising choice for the cover considering the current events Magik is dealing with over in Realm of X. Still, it looks like the mutant sorceress will have a role to play in the final days of the Krakoan Era. Alongside the Rise of the Powers of X, the Fall of the House of X will usher in a new age for the X-Men and mutants of Earth. Judging by Stanley “Artgerm” Lau’s variant and Magik’s new threads, the Krakoan Age is not going down without a fight.
Magik To The Rescue
Recently, Magik has been on the front lines of the war against Orchis. However, the War Captain of Krakoa suffered a serious loss when Orchis infected her in battle. Now, Magik’s sorceress abilities are weakened, leaving her defenseless against the onslaught during the Hellfire Gala. This put Magik on a mission against Saturnyne to rescue some mutants from Vanaheim. However, recent issues show her wavering without her full powers.
Nonetheless, if this new variant cover is to be believed, it looks like Magik is back to full power. Not only is she decked out in a sleek new golden costume, but she is engulfed in her usually blue magic and wielding her iconic sword. It sure looks like Magik is suited up to help Krakoa make one last stand in this war against Orchis.
The End Of An Era
The current Fall of X event will end with January’s Fall of the House of X and Powers of X. This has been one of the more somber events in X-Men history. During the event, many mutants have gone missing, been captured, or even killed.
It looks like the remaining mutants are not going down without a fight…and a few new outfits. While we don’t know yet what the next phase of the X-Men will look like, it is sure to be something!
