A woman in Maine took to her TikTok to vent after what she described as the “worst day ever” at work. She was then fired after posting the clip in a way many have called unprofessional, with her boss reportedly calling her boyfriend, for whatever reason.
TikToker Kayla Andrews shared her story on the platform, detailing how her boss was aware of her content based on customer experiences she had while working. In her now-deleted clip, she shared her thoughts halfway through her shift at a restaurant, describing it as the “worst day ever” after a client was rude to her.
Kayla asked her boss if she could respond to the client, but she was told to “get back to work.” The Maine woman said that happened on her TikTok, thinking that her boss wouldn’t mind, as he told her that “in front of a dining room full of people.” Apparently, he has laughed at her content in the past.
After the clip garnered a good number of views, someone sent the clip to Kayla’s boss. Through the phone, he called her “inappropriate names” and was rude to her, Kayla detailed, as she tried to argue that he knew about her TikTok and was fine with it before.
“It’s disgusting for business. Your parents would be ashamed of you,” the man said, according to the Maine woman.
Then, for some reason, the boss called Kayla’s boyfriend, Eric. Apparently, this was an attempt to get him on his side. He then called the rest of her coworkers, badmouthing her and saying that he was going to fire her, Kayla added.
Out Of A Job, Reactions
Despite Kayla not mentioning the restaurant’s name on her TikTok, the writing was on the wall: her firing was imminent. She texted him, saying that she was quitting and giving him her notice. He refused her notice, and the Maine woman was officially out of a job after four years.
Users were left in shock hearing Kayla’s story, bashing her boss for such poor handling of the situation.
“I would talk to an employment lawyer. He crossed so many lines,” one user said. Another commented, “That is extremely inappropriate and unprofessional of him. You deserve better, girl!” A third person wrote, “Girl, you dodged a bullet getting out of there. I’m so sorry this happened!“
It appears that Kayla will dedicate her time to her TikTok moving forward. She has amassed more than 55,000 followers, so hopefully she will get back on her feet in no time.
