There’s nothing more fun than watching someone pull out their phone to start recording something because they think they’ll need it for evidence at some point. This is especially so when the thing they’re recording is incredibly inconsequential or proves that they just have no idea what they’re doing. A Chevy Bolt owner recorded a similar moment while charging his car, which was then reposted to Reddit.
The video, posted by GetReelFishingPro, depicts a Bolt owner casually charging their car at a Tesla charging station. For some reason, a Tesla owner who was also charging his car decided that the Bolt owner was not supposed to be there. It’s possible that the Tesla owner thought that the Bolt owner was doing something unethical by using the car charger for the former. However, it’s well-known that Tesla has opened up their charging ports for drivers of other car makes.
Unfortunately, the man driving the Tesla either didn’t get the memo or doesn’t like it. In his agitation, he decides to film the Bolt owner, only to become upset when the Bolt owner decides to do the same thing. The video ends without the argument escalating, though it didn’t really make sense why it got to the point that it did, anyway.
“I don’t get it why would he get mad?”
Reddit users tried to respond to the comment as best as they could, with only reply perfectly summing up the situation.
“No one has actually answered your question, but I’ll try.
The best EV charging network is the Tesla Supercharging network. It is much faster, more reliable, and plentiful than any other charging network out there.
Historically, the network was closed to only Teslas. Recently the network has started being opened to other EV manufactures on a case by case basis (and on a station by station basis as well… some Superchargers are still just “Tesla only”… presumably the busiest ones).
This bozo didn’t know this and thought the Bolt driver was doing something illegal or unethical and, obviously, went about it all wrong.”
Hopefully, the Tesla driver has learned by now that some charging stations can be used by anyone and doesn’t try to harrass another driver in the future. Otherwise, we’ll be sure to write about how he’s terrorizing parked drivers again.
