Life is filled to the brim with unbelievable and wonderful moments. But if you’re not paying attention, you’ll miss them. From doorbell ringing dogs to elephants playing the drums to imperious owls, if you don’t keep your eyes peeled, you’ll miss some of life’s most magical moments. Case in point: a clip caught on camera earlier this year, and shared to Reddit earlier today, depicts a man spontaneously cranking out some god tier hacky sack skills. Frankly, if it wasn’t recorded on camera, I think it’s fair to say no-one would believe it ever happened.
The video footage takes place in a garden in the UK, and sees a man sporting a purple t-shirt, black shorts, and a cap. The footage appears to be from the perspective of a security camera. As the man enters the backyard, you can see a hand pop out from the door on the left and it’s holding an empty can.
The man notices the person in the doorway and opens the blue bin right next to him so that the “hand” in the doorway can throw the empty can into the bin without having to go outside. What happens next is one of those “one in a million” occurrences that never fails to impress me, even though I’ve seen the video about 25 times now.
First of all, the can hits the lip of the bin and bounces into the air in front of the man. Next, without hesitating, the man then kicks the can and keeps it up for a few bounces, though the can goes flying off into the opposite direction and ricochets off the wall of the house. The man quickly reacts to this by kicking it once again into the air with quite a lot of control, before back-heeling the empty can right into the bin. The shock and the accomplishment on the face of the man speaks volumes as he can’t believe what he just did.
Luckily, the unexpected clip was caught on camera for all to see, and the internet can’t seem to get enough of it, as the footage continues to make the rounds across social media. Many commenters were impressed with the man’s feat, and appreciated how shocked he looked at the end of his miraculous stunt.
Meanwhile, another commenter chimed in with, “I bet shit like this happens a lot. 8.2 billion people experiencing “once in a lifetime” stuff adds up to a lot of nextfuckinglevel vids. (About 8 billion.) Nobody belives [sic] that I once casually threw a coin into the coffee vending machine slot from 5 metres away.“
This comment led to many other netizens sharing their own increasingly unbelievable “once in a lifetime” stories, including one about McDonald’s: “I once saw someone throw a McDonald’s salsa packet at someone else who was walking away. It went into their back pocket and they didn’t even realize. They weren’t wearing baggy pants either so it was a crazy shot“
Elsewhere, another user added jovially: “He was the hacky sack champion from 1992“
While astonishing little feats like these happen all the time in life, I’m glad to see one finally get caught on camera as proof. Because face it: no-one in their right mind would’ve believed that wild hacky sack story in a million years!
