We’ve all seen all sorts of self-defense videos online. Most of them provide great tips to protect ourselves in the streets. Others, however, show us what we should avoid doing at all costs. Such is the case of a video that resurfaced on Reddit showing a man getting reversed by a mannequin. While the original video is a few months old, it’s become popular again due to, well, showing how an immovable object can also knock down a seemingly experienced fighter.
In a Reddit video posted by user bigbusta on the r/Whatcouldgowrong Subreddit, we can see a man trying to show off his fighting skills but quickly getting reversed by the mannequin he wanted to practice on. The video is quite short, but it shows a failed attempt at a grapple. From what our sleuthing eyes gather, this man wanted to showcase a move on the object. However, it seems he applied more force than necessary, leading him to his downfall. You can see how the man takes a few seconds before standing up, and another person on the show comes to his aid. While there isn’t audio in the above video, one can only imagine how loud the impact is. Those with keen eyes can even notice a delayed applause, meaning it was something impactful to watch, no pun intended.
Naturally, other Reddit users have unsheated their creativity in commenting on the matter. Some emphasized the fact that the fighter’s opponent was a mannequin, making it the perfect foe.
Others tried to justify the fighter’s action by adding a bit of logic to the situation. However, you always end up looking bad in the end.
Ultimately, we can all learn something from this: do not try to show off if you’re not confident about your opponent’s strength or lack thereof in this scenario. It was quite the fall for the fighter. Hopefully, he’s honed his moves since then and is looking for a rematch against this powerful fue.
