Airports can be stressful places. Not only do you need to remember your important belongings, like passports, tickets, and your kids, but you also need to be punctual in case of any last minute emergencies. (I almost missed a flight once because I got super lost in an airport, but I digress.) Well, in a viral clip that’s making the rounds, a man missed his flight, and instead of giving up, he attempted to board anyway by making a hilarious announcement over the tannoy. The clip was shared to Reddit earlier today.
The video footage opens in an airport boarding gate, and sees a man banging on the closed entry point of his flight, C10. Clearly, the man has missed his flight and is becoming increasingly more frustrated by his inadequate timekeeping skills. However, instead of abandoning his quest to board the plane, he comes up with another great idea: why not use the nearby tannoy system to get the door open? Simple.
Over the tannoy, the man makes an official announcement to the airport staff:
We need security at, uh, C10 to open this gate. You got some people trying to catch their flight. We’re here to earn it. Come open this mother***ing gate. Security, come to the bottom of flight C10, please. Security, security.
Man who has missed his flight
It appears that the viral clip is recorded by another traveler who is presumably waiting for their flight to board. You can hear some of the other airport travelers giggling as the man finishes his amusing announcement.
Of course, the internet couldn’t wait to dissect the clip and weigh in with their thoughts and opinions on the humorous footage. One commenter chimed in with, “It’d be a lil hard to board a plane that isn’t there…”
Another netizen added, “Pssst your entitlement is showing. Be there on time next time, Ken.”
A third user, meanwhile, wrote: “Security is coming, but for a different reason“.
Elsewhere, a further commenter quipped: “Ope, sorry buddy. Didn’t see you there. We were taxiing away, but we heard your banging. Great idea! Nobody has ever thought of it before.“
While the video doesn’t reveal whether the man ended up boarding his plane or not, I think it’s safe to say that he missed his flight. Like many of the comments suggest, if security did make an appearance, it’s very unlikely that they’d open the door to the man who is using profanities over the tannoy system. Here’s hoping this is a life lesson for him, and his punctuality improves. It’s a pretty expensive lesson, though, right?
