It’s that time of year again. The weather is getting warmer, the flowers are starting to bloom, and Star Wars Day is almost here! To celebrate the holiday fitting for a galaxy far, far away, Disney will premiere an eight-episode documentary series based on its breakout-hit, The Mandalorian.

This documentary series will take fans on an adventure into the making of The Mandalorian. Fans can expect to see interviews with cast members, roundtable discussions with writer, producer and director Jon Favreau, and never-before-seen footage.

Don’t worry: Baby Yoda will get plenty of air time as well. Chapters of the documentary will focus on “how the cast brought the characters to life, the series’ groundbreaking technology, the artistry behind the show’s practical models, effects, and creatures, plus the creative influences, the iconic score, and connections to Star Wars characters and props from across the galaxy.”

Favreau commented on the project in a press release:

Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian is an opportunity for fans of the show to take a look inside and get to see a different perspective, and perhaps a greater understanding, of how The Mandalorian came together and some of the incredibly talented contributors throughout Season One. We had a great experience making the show and we’re looking forward to sharing it with you.

Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian will premiere on Monday, May 4th, 2020, but new episodes will release every Friday on Disney+.

The first season of The Mandalorian is available now on Disney+, or you can check out our by-episode reviews here. As of this writing, the second season is set to release sometime in October 2020, but an official date has yet to be announced.

Are you looking forward to checking out The Mandalorian documentary? Or do you have other ways of celebrating the holiday in a galaxy far, far away? Let us know in the comments below and keeping coming back to The Nerd Stash for all of your nerdy news and needs!
