Nintendo has just released a new trailer to the latest entry of the Mario Golf series, Super Rush, today. Through this trailer, Nintendo isn’t just showing off the 16 rosters of Mario Golf: Super Rush though, but also the new game modes that will surely turn one of the most boring sports among people into something more lively and exciting. Especially when playing with families.

As you expect from a golf game, the Standard Golf mode provides a classic golfing experience. Meanwhile, solo players can go on a journey from rookie to pro golfers when enrolling their Mii in Golf Adventure. Taking on a variety of challenges and gaining experience will level up your character, which can then be used in multiplayer modes as well. However, if you want something that’s more fast-paced, there’s Speed Golf. In this mode, all players tee off together and have to race through the course (and score) as fast as possible. Avoid various hazards and collect items or use Special Dashes and Shots to swing victory in your favor. Aside from the (much) lower player numbers, I think this mode could work as a non-violent battle royale game.

There’s also a more strategic variation of Speed Golf called Battle Golf. Here, nine holes are in play at the same time. The first player to score three of the nine holes claims the victory. There are six locations to choose from, complete with their own special hazards, making every round of golf feel completely different.

As you can see in the trailer above, Mario Golf: Super Rush will accommodate seasoned digital golf players, newcomers, and even real-life golfers. The control is as simple as taking aim, adjusting shot strength, and sending the ball flying. It’s also possible to use Joy-Con’s motion controls just like a golf club for a more immersive experience. But strategic players can also utilize and analyze both Shot Gauge and terrain-reading Scan functions to make each shot as perfect as possible. From Mario, Bowser, to Pauline, Chargin’ Chuck, and King Bob-omb, they all have different strengths and unique special moves. Make sure to learn all the ins and outs of the game to conquer the courses!

Mario Golf: Super Rush and its collection of new modes will come to the Nintendo Switch on June 25, 2021, priced at $59.99. It supports up to four players both locally and online. Will you be getting the game and head to the greens once it drops? Share your thoughts in the comments.
