It is the month of delays, soon after the announcement of Grand Theft Auto 6 getting pushed to May 2026, we’re getting similar news from Skydance Interactive about its flagship project as well. After building quite a bit of excitement after its reveal and following game trailers, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is being delayed to early 2026, with no concrete release date in sight.
The company announced this through a post on Twitter (formerly X) and revealed that the game needed extra time for polish and to reach the intended vision. But in more exciting news, the developer also said that it has more to reveal in the near future, which most likely refers to gameplay.
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra was previously targeting a 2025 release date before being delayed, but since we hadn’t seen any in-depth gameplay after the story trailers and tech demos, most were sure that the game wouldn’t make the release window.
The game from Uncharted lead Amy Hennig follows two protagonists during the war, Captain America and Black Panther, and will have a strong focus on the story as well as its visuals. The new Black Panther, who is technically the old one, the father of the more familiar T’challa, will be played by Khary Payton. His polar opposite, the Cap, will be played by Drew Moerlein.
Like everyone else, Skydacne Interactive will make sure that the game does not compete with Grand Theft Auto 6. Some developers have been shuffling around their release dates just to make sure their game does not get buried by the massive game. Following that logic, it is more than likely that the game will come out before May 2026, possibly very early in the year, just to make sure it doesn’t compete with Rockstar’s titanic release.
