The former director of Hearthstone, Ben Brode, and developer Second Dinner announced some important details and release information about Marvel Snap during Disney & Marvel Games Showcase. The fast-paced free-to-play superhero card game, Marvel Snap, will release on PC and mobile devices on October 18.
Marvel Snap Is a New Superhero Card Game
The game will have 80 unique gaming places, each with “challenging, game-changing effects” at the beginning that assure “players will never experience the same game twice.” Also, Marvel Snap has more than 150 cards with original graphics culled from Marvel’s past.
According to Second Dinner, challenging gameplay awaits the players. You assemble a deck of 12 cards and place them into three lanes to compete for possession of the board. Depending on the Marvel setting of each lane, it will have a distinct effect. You have won when you control two lanes at the end of a match. However, because your turns and those of your opponents almost always occur concurrently, control can fluctuate drastically.
The game will be launching worldwide on Android and iOS on October 18. You can pre-register for the game via their official website. It was also mentioned during the game’s announcement that a PC client would be released soon. At this moment, no specific date has been given.
Seasonal updates for Marvel Snap will include new cards. A Hulk card variation with Max Grecke’s artwork will be given to those who pre-register on Android. On the other hand, iOS users who pre-register will get an Iron Man card version with Dan Hipp’s artwork.
“We’ve spent years making sure that Marvel Snap is the kind of game that everyone, gamer or not, can’t wait to pick up and play,” said Ben Brode. “If you love fast-paced, strategic games and the thrill of throwing down a power move to stop your opponent at the last second to win the big game, you’re going to absolutely love Marvel Snap.”
