Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, the new 4v4 tag fighter from Arc System Works and Marvel Games that has already shown new versions of familiar characters, will have its first public demo at Evo Las Vegas 2025. Attendees can try out six playable fighters, Captain America, Iron Man, Storm, Star-Lord, Ms. Marvel, and Doctor Doom, at the ArcSys booth when the event rolls around.

Players who try Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls on the Evo 2025 show floor will also get an exclusive collectible pin featuring the game’s “fighting souls” theme. This will be the first time people will be able to get hands-on experience with the game, which was first revealed during Sony’s State of Play earlier this year, completely out of left field.

Evo is owned by Sony, and Marvel Tokon also happens to be a PlayStation console exclusive. That makes the Sony-owned event an ideal venue for new reveals, and fans are expecting more than just a demo. During a livestreamed Developer Combat Panel on August 1 at 8 PM PT, Arc System Works and Marvel Games will share new gameplay details. During the event, we may see a couple of new fighters added to the roster.

Speculation about roster additions has already begun, and although the current lineup only features six characters, with the game utilizing four-character teams, a full launch roster should ideally comprise 32 fighters. Longtime Marvel vs. Capcom players are obviously hoping to see their favorite mutant berserker Wolverine, along with his arch nemesis Magneto, whose absence would be glaring. Others like Hulk, Thor, Deadpool, and Daredevil are strong contenders to become part of the launch cast. And some oddball choices like Punisher could shake things up, and considering which characters are popular in other games like Marvel Rivals could give us hints as to what we can expect.

Game Director Kazuto “Pachi” Sekine thanked fans for their positive reception and teased that more updates would be coming at Evo. He said the team is experimenting with ideas to make the game feel fresh and hopes fans will give feedback after trying it.
