Marvel Voices: Legends
Marvel Voices: Legends #1 is a special comic honoring Black History Month. Within its pages is a story titled “The World Is Not Ready”. The story comes from writer Sheree Renee Thomas and artist Julian Shaw. It is set years in the future and focuses on the gleaming halls situated in the heart of Wakanda. As T’Challa is working away, a sudden booming draws his attention to his young grandchildren. Zalika and her brother, T’Fuma are showing to have powers as volatile, and unpredictable, as their grandmother.
This leads T’Challa to entertain his young grandchildren with a bedtime story. He tells them of how a young T’Challa and Ororo met and fell in love. It continues to show how Storm and Black Panther teamed up with Shuri, Captain America, Misty Knight, and Luke Cage for a superhero team. He then shares how Storm and he broke up, only to be reunited once more. Right on cue, Storm enters the scene and the two discuss how the world is not quite ready for their grandchildren…yet.
