There’s a little over one month left until the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and it’s hard to imagine a game with more hype surrounding it. While this year has seen some big games released – Starfield being the most recent of the lot – Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is gearing up to be PlayStation 5‘s biggest release of the year. So far, Insomniac Games and PlayStation have hyped up the game accordingly, giving fans small tastes of what’s to come with gameplay trailers and a custom PS5; this morning, the excitement continues with Insomniac releasing two never-before-seen posters for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

In a Twitter post earlier today, Insomniac Games shared a short blurb about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: “Peter Parker and Miles Morales must #BeGreaterTogether to protect Marvel’s New York from overwhelming new threats!” and asking fans, “Will you rise to the challenge on October 20th, 2023?” Attached to the post were two new posters for the game, with one version featuring Peter Parker’s Spider-Man and the other featuring Miles Morales in his iconic black-and-red spidey suit. Both posters feature the character mid-web sling, with slight variations on the pose between Miles and Peter.
Interestingly, neither of the new posters has anything to do with Peter’s Symbiote suit, which the Marvel Spider-Man 2 developers have previously seemed incredibly proud of, given how often Venom-Peter has shown up in trailers, gameplay footage, and on official merchandise for the Spider-Man sequel. Instead of putting Peter in his black-and-white Venom suit, however, the new poster has Peter Parker in a red and blue suit with white highlights, similar to the Advanced Suit from the first Marvel’s Spider-Man game. It’s unclear why Insomniac has chosen to exclude the Symbiote suit from this latest batch of posters, though it’s entirely possible that there’s more Venom-related content to come as we get closer to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 release next month.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be released for the PlayStation 5 on October 20th.
