This November, several of the suits featured in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 video game will grace the covers of certain Spider-Man issues. These variant covers show off the designs of ten new outfits players can get in-game. The variants take inspiration from the upcoming video game, which lets you swap between Peter Parker’s Spider-Man and Mile Morales. As such, the covers will adorn issues of both Amazing Spider-Man and Miles Morales: Spider-Man. They also feature on Superior Spider-Man and Venom issues.
New Game Means New Suits
The variant covers show off five unlockable suits for each Spider-Man. Each costume puts a unique spin on the traditional Spider-Man suit. Plus, they are designed by some of the best artists across comics, films, and PlayStation Studios. For Peter Parker, the five new suits add a unique take on the classic red, white, and blue suit. The suits featured on these covers include:
- Raf Grassetti’s Aurantia Suit
- Jerad Marantz’s Apunkalyptic Suit
- Joel Mandish’s Tactical Suit
- Victoria Ying’s Stone Monkey design
- Anthony Francisco’s 25th Century design
Meanwhile, the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 suits for Miles Morales stick to the darker tone fans are used to. The five from the game include:
- Kris Anka’s Enc0ded Suit
- Jerad Marantz’s Biochemical design
- Julia Blattman’s Tokusatsu Suit
- Anthony Francisco’s Agimat Suit
- Sweeney Boo’s Red Spectre design
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the third console game in this universe from Insomniac Games. It follows 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man and 2020’s Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. This time, players can swap between Peter Parker and Miles Morales as they attempt to save New York City from the likes of Kraven the Hunter and Lizard. Plus, Parker seems to be struggling with a certain symbiote throughout the trailers and ads for the game.
The game is set to release on October 20 for PlayStation 5. Then catch the tie-in variant covers beginning with Amazing Spider-Man #37 on November 8.
