Jeffrey Epstein might be long gone, but his infamy lives on in the files, and for some reason, on the island he once owned. For some reason, “Epstein Island” has become an attraction for many influencers, despite being a private island owned by someone else now. So, like a moth to a flame, one YouTuber/influencer from Maryland trespassed on the island, a stunt that he likely regrets after claiming that his phone’s mic is always on now and appears to be actively recording his activities without his consent.
Ash Alk, aka, born in Maryland, is the influencer in question, and just a few days ago, he uploaded a clip on his social media accounts where he can be seen walking and filming on Epstein Island (technically known as Little Saint James). The YouTuber also carried a statement with him, saying “Uncensor the files,” so the stunt was supposedly not just for the views. Ash Alk, however, seems to be aware of the repercussions, hence adding the text, “I might be legally cooked” in his video.
When he got back, Ash Alk then posted an update, which is the video above, where he claims his phone’s mic appears to be always on. He even demonstrated in the video where he tried to use the mic for recording, but instead, the phone warned him to “end the call,” even though he wasn’t on a call. “I think someone’s listening to me,” claims Ash Alk’s friend, paraphrasing him.
People Online are Skeptical
Ash Alk insists that he’s not lying or making things up, though what he experienced on his phone could easily be a glitch or a bug. This isn’t the first time an influencer has gone to Epstein Island and claimed they’re being spied on; earlier, another influencer from Florida also did the same and allegedly got stalked by black SUVs afterward.
Ash Alk’s video has since gained millions of views online on multiple platforms, with viewers reacting with a mix of concern, humor, and doubts. It’s worth noting that the previous influencer who did the same stunt is still currently fine despite claims of being stalked by black SUVs in the past. At the time of writing, it appears Ash Alk is also physically unharmed.
That didn’t stop commenters from mocking his situation, however, leading to some genuine worry from others, “It was nice knowing u ash,” jokes a TikTok user, while another says, “Yall stop saying nice knowing you ur basically speaking it into existence pray for bro.” Others are advising Ash Alk to take extra precautions, “Switch that phone immediately and rent a Airbnb for a bit or whatever go off the grid for a bit ðŸ˜.”
It’s worth noting that Little Saint James or Epstein’s Island was sold to billionaire investor Stephen Deckoff, who now plans to develop the place into a world-class resort. So far, there are no constructions ongoing on the island yet, though it’s still private property, and property laws apply, meaning trespassers (or those who claimed to have trespassed) could technically be legally pursued.
