Maryland Man Battles Brutal Blizzard for Work as Buffalo Wild Wings Refuses to Shut Down ‘Minimum wage ain’t worth it’

People need chicken I guess

If you happen to be stuck in the pathway of this nightmarish and monumental storm named Hernando, which is sweeping through the Northeast and Maryland right now, the last thing you want to do is worry about heading to work. Well, unfortunately, capitalism and a desire for mediocre chicken wings wait for no storm, and he snapped a pic of what the blizzard looked like as he pondered why his job was staying open to begin with.

Work refused to close because it’s not dangerous enough.

In a wild moment shared to the mildlyinfuriating Reddit page, a thread by user Zyncon shared a snap of what the roads were like on his way to work with the caption “Work refused to close because it’s not dangerous enough.” It showcased blizzard conditions in Salisbury, Maryland, which is currently being hit with 14 inches of snow amid the devastating winter storm surging across the Atlantic coast. Of course, many wondered if he worked at a hospital, or some important job that requires them to brave the elements and dangerous roads, but no, it’s just a cashier’s job at a Buffalo Wild Wings of all things.

Many folks empathized with him, but some also took the opportunity to point out an interesting fact. If the roads were so terrible, why are you snapping pics of them while driving?

“Same but I work at a hospital so it’s kind of expected.”

“I think “dangerous” is relative to where you live.  I live in the frozen north and if we closed down because of something like this we would be closed 8 months out of the year.”

“We’re in Maryland. It’s calling for 14 inches. They’ve already shut down flights from both Baltimore and Philly. Friend of ours is actually trapped in Washington and not able to get home right now.”

“We just barely got outta our homes last week from the 2026 Snowcrete Debacle. Turn lanes were starting to be seen again, parking spots & that second car could be shoveled out.”

“Minimum wage ain’t worth it”

“Yeah better get your phone out and distract yourself and make it even worse”

If you are anywhere in Maryland during winter storm Hernando, the state has declared a state of emergency. So if you are non-essential, you can now spare yourself this stress of trying to navigate in this frozen flurry of snow and ice, which doesn’t seem to be letting up anytime soon.
