There is no telling what goes through the minds of people who commit certain crimes, such as the case of this North Carolina woman who vandalized a Tesla Cybertruck for no reason at all.
A viral clip on X shed light on the situation. Jason Hooper, the owner of the Cybertruck, had shared a video that caught the woman right in the act. It showed the older White woman, wearing a mask, approaching the Cybertruck with a plank with nails hammered into it, intently scratching the side of the car. The owner of the Cybertruck parked in Collegeville to go for a bike ride with a friend. Hooper explained that when he returned to his vehicle, he had seen the very tool of destruction: the plank with nails beside his front right tyre with a sign. Unknown to the perpetrator, the entire act was caught on the Cybertruck’s camera.
The woman, identified as Karen Lewis, was arrested and charged with “injury to personal property.” Considering the gravity of this act, one would imagine that it would be a crime of passion, but the car owner stated that he had never met Karen before. “I can’t believe this is actually happening,” Hooper shared. “We had all the craziness with Teslas when Elon was part of Doge and all that, but I thought we had kinda gotten past that,” he confessed. Following her arrest, Karen had been released on a $1,000 bond. According to the police, they have “no motive” for the 67-year-old woman to commit this crime. Instead, they believe the “offense appears to be a random act.”
Many netizens had so much to say about the crime. “Her motive was psychotic liberalism. People are getting crazier by the day. Good grief,” one wrote in the comments. “Random act? It was a crime driven by hate. I wonder what that’s called,” another noted. One user said, “A random act is even worse than a motive. Pure malice, no self-control. If they believed that, they should have thrown the book at her.”
Others had an issue with the punishment for the woman’s crime. “I hope she has to pay for the damage, and wish she would go to jail!” One netizen demanded, while another user alleged, “So the police are corrupted pos libs as well, playing stupid.” Another wrote, “$1,000?!? Her butt belongs in a jail cell.”
Someone wondered, “How are these people so stupid that they still don’t know that Teslas have cameras all over them?” One user quoted, “‘Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time.’” A last one wrote, “Good Lord! Are they that dense? She is a Karen… She is possessed by a severe case of TDS, and it causes her to act violently.”
Nothing warrants vandalizing someone’s personal property and this North Carolina woman needs to face the wrath of the law.
