In a social media post that quickly went viral on Monday, Governor Healey shared a video of herself signing an executive order or piece of legislation, surrounded by smiling supporters in a move that angered many local GOP.
Accompanying the visual, the Governor wrote:
As long as I’m Governor, abortion will remain safe, legal and accessible in Massachusetts. You have my word.
The statement, coming from the leader of the defiant blue state, was seen by many as a clear rejection of pro-life efforts nationwide and a strong push for late-term procedures, a position that deeply divided observers. The post ignited immediate and passionate responses, mirroring the intense national conversation about birth control and abortion rights.
Massachusetts Republicans Condemn Abortion Promise
Conservative and pro-life voices were quick to condemn the Governor’s rhetoric, with many decrying the practice as a moral failure. One commenter, going by the handle WooBooWeekley, reacted with visible disgust, stating, “Liberals love killing babies. You scumbags never shock me.“
