Netflix has revealed a teaser for Season 2 of Aziz Ansari’s award-winning comedy show, the Master of None. The first trailer simply shows Ansari and co-star Eric Wareheim riding scooters down an open road.

Ansari also confirmed the shows release date on twitter, revealing the sophomore season will be premiering this May. The first season premiered in November 2015, so it’s been quite the wait for fans of the Master of None.

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter earlier this year, Ansari explained why it’s been shown long since the show has aired.

“This show isn’t the type of show where we’re going to be able to just turn around and turn it in right away,” he said. “We covered so much stuff in season one and wanted to make sure the ideas we had in season two were equally interesting and the episodes were just as ambitious. So we took a long break, and that’s why season two hasn’t come out yet.”

Alongside the process of filming, the interview revealed that the main reason for the gap revolved around the personalization they put into each episode. It makes sense considering the show’s premise is based upon Ansari’s own life and experiences, and it’s likely why it’s seen success, because of its relatability.

Master of None
Ansari has come a long way since his supporting role as Tom Haverford in Parks and Rec

Since the Emmy-winning first season, Ansari has seen his fair share of other success, from hosting SNL to writing a not so flattering book about the President of the United States.

Master of None Season 2 will air on Netflix May 12, 2017. For more information and the site’s official review of the second season, be sure to check back to the site for updates and all of your Nerdy News.
