Matthew Perry‘s former costars today attended the funeral of the October 28-deceased actor, who tragically passed at the age of 54 last weekend. On Friday, a somber crowd gathered at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles, CA to lay Friends favorite Matthew Perry to rest following his death by drowning.
On October 28, Matthew was found unresponsive in his hot tub after playing a two-hour game of pickleball. TMZ was quick to publish exclusive footage of Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer all paying their respects.
Funeral Held For ‘Friends’ Star Matthew Perry
While the Friends cast has released an official tribute in honor of the man behind Chandler Bing, this is the first instance of them being seen together in public since his death.
Footage showed the former sitcom stars all dressed in simple, black outfits as they entered a building at the cemetery. While not too clear, the video did show Lisa in shades as she wore her blonde hair down and kept low-key in a black pantsuit. Similar looks were donned by Aniston and Cox, with the cast’s two remaining males seen in suits.
Matthew Perry’s Death Shocks World
The cemetery itself is not far from Warner Bros. Studios, where Friends was shot. Matthew starred in the 1994-2004 sitcom for all ten seasons, also appearing in every episode.
While toxicology reports regarding his death are still pending, law enforcement arriving at his home stated that there were no drugs on the premises. Also, there was no sign of foul play.
Last Monday, the cast released a statement:
“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family. There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss. In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”
Shortly before being pronounced dead, Matthew had sent his assistant out to run an errand. It is assumed that this assistant was the one finding him unresponsive in his hot tub. The actor’s last Instagram post had, eerily, shown him relaxing in his Jacuzzi just five days before his death.
