Maximum Football 2019 released a few weeks ago but the game’s developers aren’t content to stop work now that its out.

The title, which was billed as being the natural successor to the beloved NCAA Football franchise needs some work. While fans of that series were hoping it would indeed be a replacement, the launch version of Maximum Football 2019 had some significant problems.

The developers, Canuck Play, released one update not long after the game went live. Now a second update has landed on the PS4 and is expected to hit the Xbox One in the next few days.

Who's playing our new content update on this #CollegeGameday? Nothing better than playing College Football video games on a Saturday!

Some of the fixes in the new update are about making the seasons in Maximum Football 2019  more realistic. Other tweaks are geared towards fixing some mechanics.

The biggest fixes involved changing up the ranking system inside any given season. The goal, according to Canuck Play is to make sure that bad teams aren’t jumping into the Top 25 after one win over another bad team.

There is also a roster update which makes the good teams in college football quite a bit better than the truly terrible ones.

When it comes to mechanics, additions like allowing the quarterback to throw the ball away under pressure have been packed into this update. One could certainly argue that should have been included in the launch version but before this update, the only options were to escape or take the sack.

Maximum Football 2019 also got several tweaks on the recruiting front in dynasty. You can check out the rather long list of changes and fixes Canuck Play put into the game at their official site here.

It has already been released on the Sony PlayStation 4 as version 1.03 and is expected to hit the Microsoft Xbox One in version 3.0.60. Canuck Play has explained the different launch dates are because Maximum Football 2019  gets different approval wait times on each console.
