Yesterday, Microsoft’s Major Nelson revealed May’s line-up of Xbox One and Xbox 360 free games for Games With Gold. Next month will see the service add four new games for Xbox Live Gold subscribers. As has been the standard in the past, two of these games will be for Xbox One and two more for Xbox 360. May’s Selection of games is definitely solid, and many are saying it is one of the best months the service has offered. This could absolutely be true, as the headline game is Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, which if you haven’t had a chance to play, you are in for a great experience.

The full May 2018 line-up of Xbox Games With Gold is as follows:

  • For Xbox One
    • Super Mega Baseball 2
    • Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain
  • For Xbox 360
    • Streets of Rage Collection
    • Vanquish

It appears possible that the May Games With Gold YouTube video may have been published earlier than Microsoft originally intended. The official marketing that normally coincides with these announcements hasn’t gone out yet. This could simply be an over site, but it does mean that the games are not technically obsolete official. More than likely these are the games you are getting next month, but keep in mind these things can always technically change.

It is important to note that the Streets of Rage Collection and Vanquish are backward compatible with the Xbox One, so owners of that console are going to have a very good month indeed.  Also important to remember is that this months Games With Gold line-up, with games such as The Witness and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, is only available until April 30. So those interested need to make sure to check out those games while they can. May’s game lineup should be available starting Tuesday, May 1.
