Its been more than seven years since Mega Man 10 was released, with Mighty Number 9 not satisfying many in the meantime, and fans have been waiting patiently for the next installment. At the 30 year anniversary of Mega Man, Capcom did just that, revealing Mega Man 11 would be releasing next year.

Accompanying the announcement was an official trailer, one which shows off the next installments more modern look.

While the series is known for its beautiful pixel art, Mega Man 11 will be the firt classic game in the series to use 3D character models. Don’t panic yet, as the trailer shows off it will still retaining a lot of the old aesthetics when it comes down to the art style and colors of the original. The most important part is that the gameplay is reminiscent of any Mega Man game, with him platforming, shooting, and earning special power-ups.

Alongside this news, Capcom also revealed that the Mega Man X series would be coming to modern consoles and PC as well. The collection will include all the main games in that series in the Mega Man X Collection, pretty much the same port as the 2006 version of the collection for the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo GameCube.

Mega Man 11

No word on the exact release dates for either of these two modern Mega Man titles – or even format of release for the Mega Man X Collection port for that matter – but they will both be arriving in 2018 as of now, much to fans delight.
