Meghan Markle just landed the one Hollywood honor nobody saw coming for the show she filmed at her estate, and her giddy celebration has the internet completely split.
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, earned her first ever Emmy nomination on Tuesday when With Love, Meghan was named a contender for Outstanding Lifestyle Program at the 53rd Daytime Emmy Awards. The Netflix series will face NBC’s George to the Rescue, Hallmark’s The Motherhood, The Wizard of Paws, and A Different Breed, with winners announced October 30 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.
Meghan wasted no time celebrating. On Wednesday, she posted a promotional image from the series reading “Create wonder in every moment” and wrote: “A huge congratulations to the amazing crew, producers, and team who worked on ‘With Love, Meghan’ on @netflix. We are nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Lifestyle Series!“
The post also marked her first public statement since her and Prince Harry’s headline-making reunion with King Charles at Highgrove House last week.
Here’s the wrinkle fans cannot get past: the show being honored is one Netflix already stepped away from. With Love, Meghan premiered in March 2025 alongside the launch of her As Ever lifestyle brand and ran two seasons plus a holiday special, but People reported in January that there are currently no plans for a third season. By March, As Ever and Netflix had ended their partnership entirely, with a spokesperson saying the brand was “now ready to stand on its own.“
A shelved show earning an Emmy nomination is exactly the kind of plot twist the internet lives for, and the reaction was instant.
Fans Cannot Believe the Show Made the Cut
Royal watchers flooded social media within hours, and most were not in a congratulating mood. “‘With Love, Meghan’ was the antithesis of entertainment. It was an abysmal, boring slog at best and getting through one episode was painful,” one viewer wrote. Another kept it short: “This is absurd!! That show was bad.” A third piled on with a series review nobody asked for: “Yikes! It was terrible! The second one was even worse.“
Still, the nomination is real recognition from inside the television industry, and it hands Meghan a milestone no amount of online mockery can delete: she is now, officially, an Emmy nominee.
Whether the Television Academy agrees with her or with the comment section, everyone finds out October 30.
