Meghan Markle thwarts feud rumors with cameo in neighbor Gwyneth Paltrow’s Instagram clip amid incessant comparisons of their lifestyle shows. Paltrow made headlines this week after sharing a cooking video from her Montecito abode, showing her dancing in pajamas as she went about her business. Fans deemed the video an obvious jab at the Duchess of Sussex, whose recently released Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, featured similar scenes, as well as various promotional clips with the background song on Paltrow’s clip.
Ultimately, the video fueled the media speculations of beef between the two women over their lifestyle niche. Although Gwyneth Paltrow took the heat from some disappointed fans for tearing down another female founder by preying on the “Megan hate,” Markle took the most hits, with allegations of her inauthenticity and lack of originality going into overdrive. With her Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, struggling on the streaming platform and her lifestyle brand As Ever riddled with plagiarism and trademark row, the rumors pelting her against fellow lifestyle star Paltrow, whom she’s been accused of copying, did little to help her case.
Meghan Markle and Gwyneth Paltrow Dispel Feuding Rumors
Meghan Markle incidentally found the perfect fix for this latest hitch, with a little help from her supposed rival, Gwyneth Paltrow. The Goop founder took to her Instagram stories to address a series of questions that piqued fans’ curiosity during her “Ask Me Anything” session. During the session, one fan asked the star if she comprehended the “Meghan Markle beef” speculated on social media. In response, Gwyneth Paltrow said, “I genuinely do not understand this at all, whatsoever.”

Then turning to someone in the background, off-camera, the 52-year-old asked, “Do you understand this?” On cue, the camera panned to that direction, and to everyone’s utter shock, captured Markle enthusiastically munching a pie while seated comfortably in Paltrow’s kitchen. With her mouth full, the duchess shrugged her shoulders to signify she did not understand either, before bursting into giggles, leaning into her chair as she did.
The hilarious video ultimately dispelled rumors of an existing feud between lifestyle stars Meghan Markle and Gwyneth Paltrow. Fans have since reacted to the clip, commending the duo for putting on a united front to squash yet another rumor pitting two successful women against each other. They also observed the subtle yet genius dig at critics and rumor mongers, by making sure to include “a pie” in the video. Taking to Reddit, one impressed fan reacted,
“Well played. This will get the Meghan hate industry hard.”
Another wrote,
“It’s funnier when you realize Gwyneth stated she needs to sneak past Harry and Meghan’s security and give her a pie, and Meghan is eating a pie in the video – I’m here for them trolling the media back.”
A third added,
“And Meghan didn’t have to say a word. Just. Eat. Pie. 🤣🤣🤣”
A fourth comment read,
“The gutter press is always pushing imaginary beef between Meghan vs somebody. Glad GP single-handedly squashed it down. The shade is chef’s kiss😘🤌🏼.”
Paltrow Is All For Supporting Other Women

Notably, the pie reference followed Gwyneth Paltrow’s recent Vanity Fair interview, where she was asked about her relationship with Montecito neighbors Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. In response, the 52-year-old denied knowing them, despite living a stone’s throw away, even offering to bring a pie over for a chance meeting. She quipped,
“I don’t know Meghan and Harry. I mean, I’ve met Meghan, who seems really lovely, but I don’t know her at all. Maybe I’ll try to get through their security detail and bring them a pie.”
In the same interview, Gwyneth Paltrow shared her thoughts on Meghan Markle’s Netflix cooking show, and the As Ever brand, admitting she was unfamiliar with them. Notwithstanding, she voiced her willingness to support the Duchess and warmly welcome her into the lifestyle niche, as there was always room for everyone. Additionally, the 52-year-old explained how her upbringing prevented her from tearing down other women, also reiterating her “strong instinct to stand up for them” whenever the need arose. As it turns out, that pie did come in handy.
