Meghan Markle’s sister, Samantha, took legal action by filing a defamation suit against the retired royal over her disclosure about their family. But the judge is seemingly agreeing with Meghan, and there may be no case. Immediately after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s exit from the royal family, the duo did not waste time in addressing their experiences as a royal couple.
It began with a tell-all interview before a chain of other bombshells dropped. While the Duchess of Sussex detailed her childhood years and life with Thomas Markle, her husband shared his own.
Though their individual revelations have left royal fans to question their background, it has also stirred a strain in their relationship with extended families. To crown it all, members of the “Suits” star family, as well as friends, have weighed in on the matter— conversely, Harry‘s family are yet to address any of the disclosures.

Meghan Markle’s Sister’s Defamation Suit
Meghan Markle’s sister, Samantha, wrote in her filing in March 2022 that the Duchess lied about being raised in a poor home and as an only child. She stated that it was a calculated attempt to keep them away from “the false narrative and fairytale life story [she] concocted.”
Samantha Markle’s defamation suit added that Meghan kept her family away on purpose when sharing vows with the Prince— Thomas Markle was absent and King Charles walked her down the aisle.
Recently, the charges brought by Meghan Markle’s sister that sought at least $75k in damages, ruffled by the Duchess’s legal team. The court slammed Samantha’s Defamation suit, which noted that Meghan’s lie about being an only child brought her pain.
In response, the defendant explained that their client never said such, rather, she told Winfrey she grew up as an only child. Samantha’s other claim about her half-sister falsifying a humble beginning when she grew up in a middle-class background was also debated.
She explained that their dad afforded to send Meghan to an elite private school as well as dance and acting classes. But Meghan’s lawyers asked the court to throw out the case, claiming her allegations were “offensive” and “inappropriate.” According to them, Meghan only talked about her experiences in her childhood journey. But the judge is yet to rule out the case.
However, TMZ confirmed that Judge Charlene Edwards Honeywell presiding over the case is “struggling” to see the silver lining for Samantha. According to her, these were not defamation allegations. Still, for now, the case had been taken under advisement.
