Meghan and Tara then condemned Barack for his choice of picture to celebrate Michelle’s 61st birthday. The former president described Michelle as the love of his life in the birthday post. He declared that she fills every room with “warmth, wisdom, humor, and grace.” Barack counted himself lucky to take on life’s adventure with the lawyer.

Their last joint outing was in December, and they have also kept quiet about the circulating rumors.

The former first lady announced her decision to skip the inauguration event scheduled for Monday, January 20. We reported that the event marked the second time Trump was sworn in as president of the United States. He had earlier won the 2016 election against Hillary Clinton, who is also a former first lady. While advisers blamed her skipping Carter’s burial on scheduling conflict, there was none for her absence at the inauguration.
Former presidents and their families typically attend presidential inaugurations. The tradition was observed during Donald Trump’s swearing-in ceremony in January 2017. His wife, close associates, and Trump’s children Ivanka, Donald Jr., Eric, Tiffany, and Barron attended the event. Notably, Barack Obama also attended Trump’s inauguration. Other distinguished guests included Joe and Jill Biden, Bill and Hillary, George W. Bush, and the late Jimmy Carter.
Like Michelle, Trump also missed Joe Biden’s swearing-in ceremony in 2021. Following her absence at Trump’s second inauguration, several online spectators called her hypocritical. The commenters dragged her for refusing to “go high” as she always preached. Others accused her of hating white people and America at large.
Some felt Michelle’s absence was proof of her clean and uncompromised conscience. The attorney has not hidden her dislike for Trump. She even described his decision to run as a bad idea.
