Mehdi Hasan’s Brutally Honest Speech At Washington D.C.’s No Kings: “Two of His Three Wives Were Immigrants, Proving Yet Again Immigrants Will Do the Jobs That Even Americans Are Not Willing to Do”

The truth isn’t always pretty, but it’s always necessary

Mehdi Hasan, founder of Zeteo, may have just delivered the ultimate burn to Donald Trump. During his speech at Washington D.C.‘s No Kings protest, Hasan spoke nothing but the facts. Among his many truths was the fact that Trump’s legacy was also rooted in immigration–as were several of his marriages.

‘There are more of us than there are of them. We are the majority!’

Given Trump’s policies on immigration and approval of recent ICE raids, his family history is quickly forgotten. The president is the son of Scottish and German immigrants who came to America for the same reason many did: A better life. This forgotten factoid was brought to the forefront by Hasan, followed by a cacophony of applause from protestors.

“The great irony is, of course, Donald Trump is the son of an immigrant,” he says to the crowd. “The grandson of an immigrant, and married to an immigrant.” However, Mehdi didn’t just stop there. Going in for the kill, he added, “In fact, two of his three wives were immigrants, proving yet again that immigrants will do the jobs that even Americans are not willing to do.”

This grand finale was preceded by Hasan’s reason for standing with protestors at No Kings. He called out Republican members of Congress and their accusations of the protest being a “hate rally.” He was also quick to point out the hypocritical nature of it all. While MAGA-supporting politicians come down on “Mexican immigrants and Palestinian refugees and black women and transgender kids,” many Americans attended the protest out of a genuine love and acceptance of the country’s diversity.

“I’m not here out of I’m here out of love. I’m here because I love this country. I love America,” he said. “Yes, our diversity. And I am not willing to sit back and watch our glorious American multiracial, multicultural, democratic experiment, our constitutional republic destroyed by the guy from Home Alone 2! Not gonna do it!” He rallied.

If the roar of applause from the Washington D.C. crowd was any indication, Hasan’s message was clear. And, just in case anyone forgot, the sitting president is the same guy who gave Kevin directions at the Plaza Hotel. If only he led the country with that same compassion, there would be no need for No Kings protests.
