These days Melania Trump is known as the former First Lady of the United States. But long before she married Donald Trump, and the couple moved into the White House, she was a model. The Slovenian native’s modeling career began in the 1990s in Europe and then transitioned to New York. Like many models, some of her photoshoots were risque with her wearing hardly anything or completely nude.
In 2016, during Donald’s Presidential campaign, many of Melania’s nude photoshoots resurfaced. The pictures created a stir with people calling them “unladylike” and “classless.” Critics believed this was no way for a future First Lady to be seen and Mrs. Trump was setting a bad example. For her part, Melania has been silent on the matter until now.
Melania Trump Blasts Media For Scrutinizing Her Nude Photoshoots
Like her husband, Melania is criticized for her every word and move. Although the nude photoshoot scandal is over, she’s opening up about it.
On Instagram, the former model posted a video defending her work. In the clip, her words appear onscreen as she speaks. “Why do I stand proudly behind my nude modeling work?” she began. “The more pressing question is. Why has the media chosen to scrutinize my celebration of the human form in a fashion photoshoot?“
She then asks “Are we no longer able to appreciate the beauty of the human body?” The video then shares photos of famous nude art pieces, including Michaelangelo’s David.
“We should honor our bodies and embrace the timeless tradition of using art as a powerful means of self-expression,” she concludes. The video ends with a promotion of her upcoming memoir, scheduled for release in October.
