Melania Trump is well-known in her circle as the pinnacle of fashion choices for the first lady, but she doesn’t always make the most excellent dress choices. Just recently, during former president Jimmy Carter’s funeral, the wife of President-Elect Donald Trump was spotted wearing what the public considers a “fashion disaster.” The outfit in question consisted of a long, black coat fastened at the front with a belt of a similar fabric paired with a rather large marble collar. The collar looks so incredibly large and out of place that some are even comparing her look to that of a pilgrim.
The topic of Melania’s choice of clothing wasn’t the only hot conversation at the funeral, with spectators watching as former President Obama and Trump took time to converse with one another politely. It also appears that there was a tense moment between Trump and his former Vice President’s wife, who refused to shake his hand or even acknowledge him when greeted. Despite that, many spectators continued to focus on the first lady’s choice of clothing, which, honestly, shouldn’t matter much considering the event’s context.
“She looks like she was just accused of using witchcraft during her trial”
Comparing her outfit to what other former first ladies are wearing, I don’t believe it to be any more outlandish if at all. I think that the only reason it is being commented on at all is because of the other company there. Otherwise, I doubt any conversation would have arisen concerning what she decided to wear at a funeral.
Many former presidents were at Carter’s funeral, including Bill Clinton and his wife Hilary Clinton, George W. Bush and his wife Laura Bush, and Barrack Obama. Having passed away at 100 years of age, he was the longest-living former president.
