Unlike Persona, Archetypes is not as picky, and all party members who have awakened can unlock various classes. Of course, this comes at the cost of Mag, and you need to be careful not to waste them. While your allies can learn any Archetype, their stats, and other factors may impact the best class they should use in Metaphor: ReFantazio. While you can assign extra stat points for the Protagonist, the other party members have fixed stats.

The best Archetype that you can unlock for each Metaphor: ReFantazio character depends on their stats. For instance, Strohl is someone who has high physical stats, so he will be more effective as a physical attacker. Of course, you can still force him to use magic, but he won’t be able to deal the best damage.

Hulkenberg is somewhat similar to Strohl, but she is slightly better at magic than him. Since she is one of the first allies you will get, giving her the Mage Archetype is not a bad move. Heismay’s main stat is his Agility so besides the Assassin lineage, the best Archetypes for him are Gunner and Merchant class.

Junah, on the other hand, is more inclined toward magic. Her Masked Dancer class is already perfect since you can easily switch her abilities, but allowing her to become a Mage is not a bad idea. Eupha is the best character to be a Healer besides the Protagonist since she has a high magic stat. This will allow her to restore a ton of HP, even with the weakest healing magic.

Basilio is the most unfortunate party member since he will join the last. He is similar to Strohl since he also has high physical stats. Besides Berserker, the best Archetypes for him are Brawler and Warrior.

Of course, stats are not the only factor to consider. Another important thing is the Royal class, which you can unlock at the end of the game. Unlike the Protagonist, who will unlock the Prince Archetype automatically, the other party members need to fulfill the class requirement. For example, the best class for Strohl in Metaphor: ReFantazio, according to this metric, is the Warrior and Commander since he has to upgrade these two lineages to unlock the Royal Warrior.
