Maria Alces is Grius’ child who you can meet during the prologue of the game. Maria is also one of the first follower bonds that you can start in Metaphor: ReFantazio. This girl will unlock the Healer Archetype that lets you gain various healing abilities. Like Hulkenberg, you can automatically obtain her follower bond since she is part of the main story. While the child will be trapped in the capital city, you can still connect with her despite traveling the world after you have unlocked the teleportation magic.
Best Dialogue Choice for Maria Bond in Metaphor: ReFantazio
Although you will meet Maria quite early in Metaphor: ReFantazio, you can only start the first bond event after you have completed the first dungeon and obtained the Gauntlet Runner. I highly recommend increasing her bond rank since she can provide several useful abilities, like extra EXP and speed cooking.
