The Tomb of Lament is an optional dungeon that you can access in Metaphor: ReFantazio after you have reached Port Brilehaven. Inside this abandoned tomb, you can encounter the Grieving Ghost of the Goblet bounty monster named Fatolich. Exploring this dungeon can be quite a chore since it’s quite large, and there are numerous undead enemies roaming around. To make matters worse, you also need to deal with minotaurs who love to patrol in several areas.

Before infiltrating the Charadrius, you can explore the Tomb of Lament and complete the Grieving Ghost of the Goblet bounty. The best skills to bring into this dungeon are Light and Ice magic. You can get Light from the Healer Archetype, while Ice magic can be mastered by Mage.

The primary enemies in this dungeon are undead skeleton soldiers, but they are just petty mobs. The ones that you need to keep an eye on are the minotaurs called Guptauros and mimics named Trove Imitec. The Guptauros are weak against Ice while Trove Imitecs are weak against Light. You can also use Gold attack to distract the mimics.

You may also encounter Green Elmenta in this dungeon. While they are strong, these elemental monsters prefer to run away. If you want to beat one, you have to hit them with Lightning magic.

When you encounter Guptauros, they will usually walk around the hallway with a set pattern. While you can hide inside the open jails, it will take a long time before they turn around. I suggest just continuously sprinting forward since you can easily outrun these monsters.

Note that the Tomb of Lament contains several crawl holes that you can pass through to enter another area. I recommend breaking all pots near walls in case they hide a crawl hole behind them. Besides the Grieving Ghost of the Goblet bounty, you can also find two Gold Beetles in this dungeon.

Best Team Composition

Here are the best team comp you can use to complete the Tomb of Lament:

  • Healer – Protagonist
  • Mage – Hulkenberg
  • Merchant – Heismay
  • Brawler – Strohl

The Healer lineage is extremely important in this dungeon since many enemies are weak against Light magic. You will also need to bring a Mage if you want to use Ice magic. However, no matter what happens, do not use Dark magic in this area since some enemies can Repel and even Absorb this element.

Brawler is another good option since the majority of monsters in this area are also weak against Strike attacks. The Merchant Archetype is optional, but it is good against Pyrite Imitec. The Gold attack can distract the mimics, and it is also considered an Almighty attack. The problem is that you have to spend money to use it.

Grieving Ghost of the Goblet or Fatolich is a powerful undead mage. It is weak against Light magic and Strike attacks. However, it will resist all other elements. Besides attacking you with Dark magic, this boss can also summon Chimenza.

You need to take care of this beast first since it can heal Fatolich. Luckily, it is weak against Wind magic, so if the Protagonist is using the Healer Archetype, you can inherit the Cyc skill from the Seeker lineage.

During the battle, the boss will use the Concentrate ability before it unleashes a powerful move. I recommend moving to the back row and guarding to limit the damage you take. Besides deadly Dark magic from Fatolich, you also need to deal with Fire Claw and Lightning magic from Chimenza.
