Deep Silver and 4A Games have released the first DLC for its popular single-player action-adventure, Metro Exodus. It was announced at the Gamescom edition of Inside Xbox. ‘The Two Colonels’ is out now on Xbox One, PS4, and PC and is described as a supplemental story set a year before the events of the main game.

In a press release, Deep Silver said:

The Two Colonels finds Colonel Khlebnikov on a dangerous journey home to see his son again for New Year’s Eve, but in true Metro fashion, the road ahead of him is anything but safe. Dealing with the area’s aggressive mutants may be the simplest part of Khlebnikov’s trip, as the area is becoming increasingly uninhabitable and imposing its local leaders with difficult choices. The Two Colonels DLC is set a year before the events of Metro Exodus and follows the journey of Colonel Khlebnikov during the last days of life in Novosibirsk. This is the same path that Colonel Miller will retrace a year later.

The Two Colonels DLC is available as part of the Metro Exodus expansion pass, which also entitles players to the second story expansion ‘Sam’s Story’, set to release in early 2020. The expansion pack is also available for individual purchase.

Metro Exodus released in February this year to great reviews. It is also now available on Xbox Game Pass, so it is easier to ‘get in’ than ever. There is also apparently a sequel in the works. This is according to the author of the original Metro books Dmitry Glukhovsky, who confirmed on Instagram that he is writing it.
