Micheal ended things with Sierra on the October 10 episode of Bachelor In Paradise, just before the rose ceremony. The 38-year-old broke up, saying he didn’t feel any connection to her and thought she was moving too fast.
However, Sierra interpreted his words to mean that he was never interested in her but only strung her on just to kill time. She released a shade video on her Instagram, playing back the words he said to her when they split.

A TikTok user putting up some theories claimed that Michael’s actions put a brake on Bachelor In Paradise‘s producers’ plans. The TikToker suggested that producers wanted Danielle to be the cause of Michael and his former beau’s split.
Unfortunately, the reality TV star wrecked those plans when he broke up with Sierra before the rose ceremony. The TikTok user theorized that producers didn’t force Michael and Sierra to split because Danielle was new.
Michael’s Response To The Controversy
Micheal was quick to respond to the theories spun in the video. He admitted that he could have handled his breakup with the 27-year-old better than he did. However, he was not hesitant to defend his actions.
“Taking a rose when you’re heart’s not in it is ‘leading someone on,'” the TV personality said.
He added that ending his only relationship when he didn’t have a rose was dangerous, but he knew that.
“I still should [have] handled the breakup better, that’s on me,” the BiP contestant said about the Michael and Sierra split.
Michael further explained his actions in a confessional.
“I’m dealing with the grief element in my life,” the father of one clarified. “There’s just this weird, weird thing that happens where I think I’ve found it, it feels good, and then I get in my head and I push people away. And I feel really bad about that,” he said.
Michael has done the right thing by admitting that he could have handled the Sierra Jackson split well. His act of not leading Sierra on is also admirable. Hopefully, Michael and Sierra will let go of their pain and find love again.
