E3 2019 is fast approaching, and with many publishers backing out of the event, Microsoft and Xbox have held steadfast on having a large presence. Microsoft has just released its plans for the event, including the time, date and location of where and when the conference will take place.
Microsoft will take their usual time slot of 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET on June 9. That is the Sunday before the official event opens to the public on that Tuesday. Microsoft will share the day with only Bethesda, going later that evening. Xbox’s Major Nelson promised that this year will be one of Xbox’s biggest blowouts and that fans should expect a lot from this year’s conference. Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, had this to say about Xbox at E3:
There was some news about E3 back in the fall. We had a discussion internally about, ‘Should we go big?’ ‘Should we save some money?’ ‘What does that mean?’ We decided, no [we’re not going to save money], we’re going to do our thing. We’re going to go and be as big at E3 as we’ve ever been. I love that opportunity.
Clearly, this is in line with reports that Xbox will show off a few major Xbox titles while teasing the future. After announcing that they have acquired numerous major studios under the Microsoft Studios umbrella at least years E3, fans should expect at least a tease of what is to come from these devs.
As for their major exclusives that are on the near horizon, fans should expect two major games to be shown. Gears of War 5 is set to have a multiplayer reveal in June, which would be in line with Microsoft’s plans for E3. Halo: Infinite, which is set to be a major step forward for the series will likely be shown in greater detail at their conference. Both of these titles alone make for a great conference, but Microsoft and Xbox are sure to have some huge surprises up their sleeves of course.
