Microsoft Launches New Xbox Wireless Headset & It’s Cheaper Than Sony’s

Microsoft launches a new wireless headset for its Xbox series of consoles, but it is only coming out in a few select markets in the world. An improved version of the wireless headset was launched back in 2021, though the new unit has all the old features with a few new improvements on top.

The most notable addition is the inclusion of Dolby Atmos surround sound, the longer battery life in use that can go up to 20 hours on a single charge, an improved microphone with better quality, and auto-mute and voice isolation features. All of this is also available in a new all-black color that looks very sleek.

The newly announced Xbox wireless headset is priced at $109.99. The last model of the headset came out at $99.99, so this new one is a bit more expensive compared to the original but only by $10. Furthermore, this new one completely replaces the previous model.

The Sony Pulse wireless headset, which has a similar feature set, originally came out at $149.99, quite a bit cheaper than the Xbox offering.

The new Xbox wireless headset is coming out just in time for the release of Call of Duty Black Ops 6, and that is no coincidence. The new game will come out on October 25, 2024, and will be the first game in the franchise that will be available on day one on a subscription service. Anyone subscribed to the Ultimate or PC tier of Game Pass will be able to play it for โ€œfree.โ€ If you missed the list of all the other games coming to Game Pass this month, you can check them out here.

In other Xbox news, the Head of Xbox Game Studios has been replaced by the boss of Rare Studios, who will now oversee all the first-party studios under the Xbox umbrella.
