After an extended break for two of The CW’s hit superhero shows, both Arrow and The Flash have released their midseason premiere trailers. As both of the stories continue, our heroes will continue to face risky situations and new villains that challenge them to their utmost. The two trailers released today showcase some of the heightened emotions in store for both Oliver and Barry in their upcoming seasons.
In the aptly-named “Revenge” trailer, Oliver is hunting down Damien Darhk in retaliation for Darhk’s attack on himself and Felicity. According to Thea, Felicity is out of surgery, but “they didn’t say what was wrong.” The very next image is that of Oliver standing before an ominous grave – could it be Felicity’s? That seems to be the obvious connection the director wants us to make; however, given Arrow‘s history of surprising twists, I sincerely doubt the grave is for Oliver’s significant other.

Meanwhile, in the trailer for “Pretty Messed Up,” Barry and his friends seem to be traveling to Earth 2. The Reverse Flash will be returning, but he’s not the only villain that the team will have to worry about. The trailer also showed Killer Frost, who is the Earth 2 version of Caitlyn Snow. With the team traveling to a whole other world, The Flash is sure to have interesting adventures, especially because the writers can still keep the original timeline consistent in Earth 1.
