Miley Cyrus wasn’t going to let anyone F— with her “freedom” as she took to Instagram to promote her “Mother’s Daughter” track back in 2019. Posting to her social media in June of that year, the Grammy winner delivered an unusual photo as she held a banana-shaped phone while rocking a crop top, and it was the perfect snap for fans.
Building up hype for her SHE IS COMING album, Miley posed showing off her toned figure in a two-tone look, but it was the unusual accessory that made headlines as the singer ushered in a new music era.
Miley Cyrus Shocks Instagram With Banana Phone Pic
Posing by a pink backdrop with 1-833 and SHE-IS-COMING written across it, Miley struck a semi-shocked expression as she held up an old-fashioned phone shaped like a banana.
Flaunting her toned abs in a skimpy white crop top, the pop star showed off her trim waistline and toned arms as she looked right into the lens, with fans also seeing hints of blue jeans as Miley kept her look casual.
Matching the pale pink phone to the candy-pink backdrop, Cyrus sported her light locks down and in shaggy waves, also rocking bangs as she completed her look via various necklace, bracelet, and ring pieces.
Ushering In New Music Era
Posing with her mouth open as she also wore a blush-heavy face of makeup, Miley geared fans up for her new beats, with the snap coming as part of series of images promoting her album. Also shared were snaps of Miley squeezing fruit and letting the juice drip down her. While some raised eyebrows over the provocative finish, others loved it.
In May 2020, a fan account reposted the banana phone image, marking one year since Miley’s SHE IS COMING release. “Happy 1st anniversary of She Is Coming! 💖 It feels like just yesterday I was sitting in bed, crying to The Most… Oh wait, it was 😳 What are everyone’s faves off the EP? Mine are D.R.E.A.M. and Party Up The Street!” they wrote.
Miley has since made major headlines for her January 2023-dropped “Flowers” track and subsequent Endless Summer Vacation album. Last weekend, the singer won her first Grammy for “Flowers,” a track largely assumed to be about ex-husband Liam Hemsworth.
“This award is amazing. But I really hope that it doesn’t change anything because my life was beautiful yesterday. Not everyone in the world will get a Grammy, but everyone in this world is spectacular…,” Miley said while accepting the award for Record of the Year.
