There have been far too many stories of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents doing everything in their power to ensure they are able to continue with their violent and aggressive stances. However, just because these agents and their attacks are widespread across the country doesn’t mean everyone agrees with them. In fact, the Milwaukee Bucks coach in Wisconsin, Don Rivers, believes these agents aren’t even well-trained.
Shortly after last night’s game between the Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics, coach Don Rivers took to the mic in a post-game interview. He was questioned about his stance on ICE after condemning them in a different interview earlier in January. Fortunately, both he and his fans have doubled down on that statement.
The video above was taken just after the Milwaukee Bucks’ loss to the Boston Celtics. During the interview, coach Don Rivers was asked by a reporter from the right-wing sports outlet, Outkick, “A few weeks ago, you said that [the killing of Renee Good] was, quote, ‘A straight up murder,’ and you called the broader situation a, quote, ‘travesty.’ Now that some time has passed, do you still stand by those words? And when you said murder, can you explain if you meant that in the legal sense, or as a moral condemnation?”
Rivers immediately doubled down on his statement, even condemning the agents involved for their actions. Fortunately, fans of the coach and team feel the same way, applauding him for speaking out. One commenter under a post about the events on Reddit even said, “Doc went to Marquette. He was always fond of Milwaukee. He’s on the right side of history. Unfortunately this season has been a disaster, but some things are bigger than basketball. Doc’s a good guy.”
Another top comment even says, “it is murder to shoot people in the face and kill them.” It’s great to see how many people are on the same side as the famed coach. Another said “He’s only saying what is brutally obvious“
Milwaukee Bucks Coach Condemns ICE and Fans React Positively
Unfortunately, these events and situations involving ICE and their aggression are no longer contained, and they have begun affecting people of different job backgrounds and industries. Doc Rivers is not the very first professional to speak out against ICE, and he certainly will not be the last.
On the other hand, it’s also great to know that people will willingly set aside their differences for the greater good. The comment, “I hate Doc as a coach. He is still absolutely, 100% correct about this. Outkick can go [redacted] itself. ICE is a murderous organization, unaccountable men with guns,” is one of the most accurate in the entire comments section.
