The Pillager Outpost is a structure in Minecraft that can potentially spawn in any biome where Villages naturally generate. These biomes include Meadow, Plains, Desert, Savanna, Taiga, and Snowy Tundra. Snowy Taiga and Sunflower Plains are also included in this list, but these biomes only apply to Bedrock Edition. However, outposts can also appear on non-Village biomes such as Grove, Snowy Slopes, Jagged Peaks, Frozen Peaks, and Stony Peaks. Out of all these regions, the easiest areas to find a Pillager Outpost are within Deserts, Plains, and Meadows, as these zones have little to no foliage that can obstruct players from spotting an outpost.
Locating a Pillager Outpost in Minecraft
To locate a Pillager Outpost in Minecraft, players must first ensure cheats are enabled in their world. Next, they must open the console and input the command “/locate pillager_outpost” or “/locate structure minecraft:pillager_outpost.” The user will then receive the coordinates to the nearest Pillager Outpost within the vicinity, including how many blocks away the structure is from the player.
However, those desiring an authentic survival experience yet still wish to locate a Pillager Outpost in Minecraft will need to thoroughly look around until they find one. Pillager Outposts do not offer map locations like Mansions or Ocean Monuments in Minecraft, so players will need to use their eyes and game knowledge to find an outpost. Bedrock users can use a device like a Spyglass to examine distant areas, while Java users are advised to turn up the viewable block distance to the highest setting.
As mentioned above, biomes filled with trees and forests can cause the search for outposts quite challenging, especially since the structure is mainly made of wood. One key difference that Bedrock and Java players should note is that Pillager Outposts can never spawn near Villages in Java. However, this restriction does not apply to Bedrock Minecraft.
Another way to organically locate a Pillager Outpost in Minecraft is by roaming the biomes listed above in search of Pillager patrol units. While these units can spawn independently of an outpost, it is possible that their structure might be near if a group of Pillagers is seen wandering around a single location. Once Minecraft fans finally find an outpost, they can loot the landmark for common to rare items within its chests. However, be mindful that killing the Pillager Captain will trigger Bad Omen, a status effect that will cause a Raid to occur the next time the player enters a Village.
