Minecraft: Story Mode Premiere Dates Revealed

Get your stacks of emeralds, cobblestone and hammers ready. Minecraft: Story Mode is almost here. News comes from game developer Telltale Games creator of increasingly popular episodic gaming series like Game of Thrones and Tales from the Borderlands. Telltale Games gave a sneak peek of Minecraft: Story Mode last month at PAX Prime in Seattle. They did not give away too many details about what players can expect. However, they did hint at the game offering plenty of room for in-game discovery.

On to the good stuff…

We begin with a quick breakdown about Minecraft: Story Mode.

Telltale Games says that the official release dates for the season premiere are less than a month away. Episode 1 : Order of the Stone will be the first of five episodes to be released. According to Telltale games, players will guide their character on a quest to find the Order of the Stone. This version of Minecraft will play differ in play style when compared to other versions of Minecraft. “In Minecraft: Story Mode, playing as either a male or female hero named ‘Jesse,’ you’ll embark on a perilous adventure across the Overworld, through the Nether, to the End, and beyond.”

Downloads will be available at launch for PC and Mac from the online Telltale store. Digital distributions will also be available via the Playstation Network and the Xbox Games Store. This will serve as the first Telltale game where players can customize the appearance of their in-game character.

Digital releases for the game are set to release Tuesday October 13, 2015. The season will premiere on IOS, Amazon and Android compatible devices as well on Google Play, The Amazon Appstore and the App Store starting October 15, 2015. PS Vita and Wii U will need to wait a bit longer for details on a release date. Telltale has a rich history of utilizing compelling vocal talent. This installment will bring the skills of Patton Oswalt, Brian Posehn, Corey Feldman, Catherine Taber and more.
