Nintendo has scored a major deal now that Minecraft will be coming to the Wii U. People who own the Wii U can expect Minecraft: Wii U Edition to pop up in the eShop later this month.
The Wii U version of Minecraft will cost $29.99 when it becomes available on December 17th. The game will come bundled with six of the most popular add-on pack. The Festive mash-up pack will also be there so families can make their own version of Winter Wonderland.
Along with the six bundled packs, 16 other DLC packs will be available to purchase separately at launch. These include:
- Festive Skin Pack
- The Simpsons Skin Pack
- Doctor Who Skins Volume 1
- Doctor Who Skins Volume 2
- Star Wars Classic Skin Pack
- Star Wars Rebels Skin Pack
- Star Wars Prequel Skin Pack
- Mass Effect Mash-up Pack
- Skyrim Mash-up Pack
- Plastic Texture Pack
- Candy Texture Pack
- Cartoon Texture Pack
- Steampunk Texture Pack
- Pattern Texture Pack
- Greek Mythology Mash-up Pack
- Halloween 2015 Mash-up Pack
“We’ll be adding more content packs to Wii U Edition in the near future, and updating the core game with free updates, just like our other platforms,” Mojang added. “As a quick reminder: all DLC packs are optional. You can have significant amounts of fun playing Minecraft without spending extra cash.”
Minecraft: Wii U Edition will also be utilizing the off-tv play. This means that you will be able to continue playing the game on the gamepad when someone else wants to use the TV for something else.
