Across Minnesota, many people are standing up to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, also known as ICE, and other federal agencies. Still, one Minnesota single mom went viral for her idea of a date night, which involved resisting ICE’s immigration raids by harassing ICE agents while also taking an anarchy-fueled romance stroll. Needless to say, she attracted a legion of potential suitors and critics alike.
TikTok user and some.call.me.lizzie, aka Lizzie, from Minneapolis, Minnesota, is the “relationship anarchist” in question. Apparently, the video, posted on January 12, is a response to a dating profile request from one of her followers, where they wanted her to put up a call to action against ICE, like it were a dating app profile. Of course, Lizzie’s preferences are particular, as she wants someone who shares the same beliefs about anarchy as her.
As Lizzie introduced herself, “I’m 42… I’m looking for somebody who, right now, will I be able to call and say, hey, get in the passenger seat and let’s go [expletive] some [expletive] up.” Lizzie further explained why, alluding to how Minneapolis is now being occupied door-to-door by ICE and “kidnapping people from their homes,” and “going to schools.”
Presumably, Lizzie made the video while preparing to join an anti-ICE protest in Minneapolis, as she followed it up with supposed aftermaths of the protest, where she can be seen brought to tears in her car after ICE surrounded her son’s school, and after she helped another kid from getting snatched by ICE.
People online wanted to be her anarchist friend
Lizzie’s videos have since gone viral with millions of views not just on TikTok but also X/Twitter. Many people in her TikTok comment section have since praised her energy and conviction, as even those who are in a committed relationship wanted to be her partner, “I asked my husband he said I can date you !! Yay !!!” celebrates a TikTok commenter.
“I mean, I’m married and all, but we ain’t THAT serious 🥰🥰” according to another commenter with a similar sentiment, while another claims, “Ope. I just fell in love.” Still, it appears that despite the rather strong reception from her radicalized dating profile, Lizzie might still be single, though the more important thing is that she appears to be safe.
For now, Lizzie continues to not only attend anti-ICE protests and give updates regarding the situation, but has also begun facilitating a donation effort to help Minneapolis families who feel stranded and unsafe. In one of her updates, Lizzie has claimed that Minneapolis is in its “own form of lockdown, this is occupation.”
