What happens when two country music legends get together? Brilliance, that’s what! Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert are both accomplished and deeply respected musicians, and their collaboration for the song, “Miranda Lambert & Carrie Underwood: Somethin’ Bad,” has been celebrated. It’s been a decade, and now fans have been treated to a surprising update.
Lambert and Underwood first released “Somethin’ Bad” in 2014, and they recently joined forces again for an epic short video. It shows Underwood carrying a baseball bat and Lambert with a canister of Kerosene (which she revealed was “blinged out” by @taylorsblingcreations).
Fans React To Miranda Lambert And Carrie Underwood’s New Video
The stars have joined forces again, this time to appear on American Idol. Underwood is a judge for Season 23, and Lambert has joined her as a mentor for the Top 10 finalists during Ladies’ Night. Fans have been excited about the post, as they should be, and the comment section has been filled with reactions, including one from the official Instagram page for American Idol. “We’re scared but also can’t stop watching this…” the comment reads.
Other reactions include, “Best thing we’ve seen all year,” “We need another collaboration from Carrie and Miranda!,” “Wait this is so iconic,” and “Y’all have no idea how this made my day!!! Country Legends in one frame.” Is the video intimidating? Not really, but it is fierce!
It is also incredible to see women supporting women, especially two country music greats, who have not competed against each other for the spotlight but have continued to support each other’s careers. Lambert has previously discussed Underwood in an interview with ET, noting how they had “very parallel careers and paths” in the industry, but rose to fame around the same time.
“She’s from a small town in Oklahoma, I’m from a small town in Texas. She started on Idol, I was on National Star and I think she was like, a year behind me, but we were the same age and we were, you know, on the same label for a decade,” Lambert said. “So I feel like we just have a really big mutual respect for each other.”
Lambert has also made several Instagram posts in celebration of Underwood, including one from 2023, when she informed fans that she had attended the “Jesus Take the Wheel” singer’s Las Vegas residency. ”This show is so well thought out and it is a perfect reflection of her and what a career she has built,” she captioned photos of them and Underwood’s performance. “The lights, fire, music, production, sparkle’s and most importantly that voice. Carrie, you are an icon in every sense of the word.”
Country legends!
