Miranda Lambert has a big heart, and a large part of her love is dedicated to her furry friends. She has made many posts about her animals before and the way they have impacted her life for the better. Lambert views her pets as an important part of her family and recently shared her heartache with fans when she made two posts on Instagram about how, in the last six weeks, she had lost “two of the best and most loyal friends I have ever had have left this earth.”
The Wranglers singer is an advocate for rescue animals and in her first post on Instagram, she shared a collection of photos and short video clips of herself and her beloved dog, Delta Dawn. “She was one of those dogs that you only get once in a lifetime,” Lambert explained in the caption. “I found her at a Sonic in Oklahoma in the spring of 2009. She was homeless and hungry but still full of personality. I opened my car door, and she jumped in. Little did I know when I was trying to just get a cherry limeade, I would meet one of the most amazing dogs I would ever know. I had about 16 years with her, and she was on almost every tour I’ve ever been on.”
Her sweet pet filled her life with immense joy, but she died on April 22, 2024, leaving Lambert “so heartbroken.” However, in her post, the singer also focused on the positive aspects of adopting dogs from shelters and encouraged her fans to do so.
Miranda Lambert’s Instagram Post About Her Pets Leaves Fans In Tears
In Miranda Lambert’s second Instagram post, she dedicated it to her beloved Pyrenees, Louise (who she also nicknamed Lou Lou, boo boo, Lou bell, Lunas, fluff cloud). “Yesterday, we said goodbye to the fluffiest, most protective gal pal I could ever ask for. I rescued Louise and her sister Thelma in 2016,” she shared in the caption of the post.
“The first day I ever brought them to the farm in TN (they rode on the bus on a day drive from Dallas), they were right at home,” she continued. “I have mini horses, chickens, and goats, and I needed them for protection for the critters. And boy, did they do the job. I had 7 years with Thelma, who we lost last July, and 8 years with this beauty. My Lou Lou polar bear. She loved it when I sang her ‘special songs’ to her.” In the post, Lambert praised the Pyrenees breed for their qualities, including being “loving” and “patient.” Again, she urged fans to adopt. “So please remember this summer while you are home in your backyards with your families to consider bringing home a shelter pet to be part of those memories,” she wrote.
The comment section of the post has been filled with supportive comments from Miranda Lambert’s fans, who share her heartbreak and feel her loss.
